What is SIE?
SIE is a web site improving system. It analyzes the way people use a web service and optimizes it to meet their needs and expectations. The system is able to personalize web services. This means that the content of the pages, as well as results of searches generated by built-in search engine may vary depending on the user. SIE learns each person's clicking habbits and uses that information to provide links to pages that are likely to suite his or her interests best.
SIE works as an "add-on" to a particular web service. It intercepts the communication between client and server and invokes various modules (see details section) that modify the requested pages. New modules can be added very easily, which makes SIE a great framework for implementing and testing new adaptive web techniques. Neither the WWW server, nor client software has to be adgusted in any way. Just plug in and let SIE do the dirty work!
